ZERO Disc is really not a good option at all as this takes the horseshoe function
out of the equation completely...
I believe you have to have at least 2.8 Disc to enable the Horseshoe...
and the Deus was designed to run with around 10 Disc with no loss of
depth or sensitivity whatsoever... according to Andy at bootcamp...
you can pass that nail test easily with the Deus in many different configurations
It's the primary reason I bought it... target separation is the best going!
Careful with the Sensitivity.... it doesn't make for much if any increase in depth
and can actually make it less more often than not, as the higher Sens makes
the machine more sensitive to everything including ground clutter small iron
etc.. if you're after a little more depth just bump Trans up to 3, and maybe
lower Sens.
Soil conditions will almost always dictate depth potential... and you can't change that!

The horseshoe wll react depending on what target range you have rejected....why are you using the horseshoe anyway, the audio is far more reliable, full tone gives so much more informatrion.
The Deus was not designed to run on discrimination 10, it is a factory pre-set programme as a suggested starting point, the Deus was designed to be adjustable to suit a wide range of search conditions. The Gold Maxx Power was designed to run on 6.8.
Maximum TX gain and lowering the Sensitivity will give you no great depth advantage in most cases, if your conditions allow run your sensitivity a little higher. Sensitivity will give a better over all advantage, a lower discrimination will give a cleaner signal on deep targets.
Deep targets sound different, pay attention to the Audio Response adjustment lower settings will help understand deep target sounds.
