at the very beginnings of XP, XP was quite inspired by minelab. there were many similarities designwise between their first machines (XP adventis) and the minelab machines of that time (i.e.minelab musketeer), even their logos (XP and ML) had a very similar look and the company name XP or Xplorer sounded very much like the new and very successful machine minelab had just launched at that time.
