I've been doing this since the mid 60s. Doesn't mean that I've done it right but there have been several detectors through my hands. Yes, practice will make a difference. The XP hits on junk about as good as any of them. At my age I don't have a lot of time to learn. This is a interesting machine and is about as deep as any of them but needs work in discrimination area. Not intent to run this machine down because it is a good unit.but could be helped.
Run a E-trac over the same area as you do the XP. Hard to compare.
At your age it's time to learn the Deus because the Etrac will make your arm fall off. I hunted a Etrac for years and still own a CTX that I wouldn't part with.
The Deus will run with them all day long and you won't need any pain meds at the end of the day. How much time do you have? You learned the computer you will get this if you stay with it.
