Hi Bill, mine is the same way, if you go in to expert you can change it up or down but still never at 18KHz. All of the Deus are the same I think, my friends is that way also.

The frequencies are referred to as 4 - 8 - 12 - 18 for ease of communication purposes. They are all setup as 4 - 7.7 - 11.7 - 17.7 KHz

I think he means if a junk target reads 53 notch above that number 10 or 12 points on the notch so you would notch up to 65 or so to clean the signal up. dont quote me on that!

Thank you for response. I run it wide open (no disc, no notch) when looking for deep stuff. When searching around areas with lots of garbage I do the opposite. I think the sensitivity is too high...
