We will all be able to upgrade to version 4 when it comes out, thats the beauty of the Deus you can download all the latest software updates, dont worry about the new coil, although its been mention 2016 i would still prefer either the 11'' option coil and then they have not made a specific release date i am guessing the latter part of 2016 rather than at the start of the year.
My personal opinion is you want to get use to using the Deus prior to wanting all the super duper expensive add ons,as you are new and please dont take this the wrong way having the most expensive detector or the latest machine out does not make you a better detectorist or find more straight out of the box, that only comes with experiance.A detector is just a lump of plastic with some electronic components inside it,that on it own does not find you anything, its the skill of the operator or the 10'' of space between your ears that makes it work. What i am trying to say in laymans language is that a experianced detectorist with years under his belt can use any old detector and still find decent finds because of the experiance but a newbie with a super duper Deus wont find much straight out the box, that is the bottom line on how detecting works.
